Become a Foster Parent

Pierce County currently faces a significant shortage of foster homes. There are enough foster kids in Pierce County to fill the LeMay Car Museum more than 3 times.  Our community needs strong and loving foster parents to help these children experience stability, a sense of safety, and a chance at a normal life.

Some people think they don’t have the special qualities it takes to become a foster parent. When you open your home to a kid, that otherwise wouldn’t have a safe place to sleep that night, that is something really special.

Our foster children have been through very traumatic experiences and require a specialized therapeutic intervention, Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS). Because of our unique population, we ask our foster parents to be a PART of our treatment team, so they are involved and informed throughout the entire process. We are located within a community health agency and are able to provide many services on site to suit the needs of you and your foster child.

At Chance 4 Children we provide:

  • On-going training and education to all of our families
  • Foster Parent Trainer to provide individualized support
  • 24/7 on-call dedicated crisis line
  • A treatment team that includes Therapists, Case Managers, and a Child Psychiatrist to assist with specialized therapy & family dynamics
  • Medication management
  • Samsung tablet

Our foster parents receive a reimbursement up to $1900 per month, per child. Flexible options are available for care needs ranging from 24 hours to 12 months.  We honor our foster parents and their decision about what is the right for their family.

Take the chance for kids in Pierce County that need a safe place to stay tonight.  Be who you needed when you were young.
